Your playing was really appreciatedby everyone in the audience. Our plan is to return to Christ Church next year, so long as the cakes are just as yummy!

Our 2013 Summer School in Malvern was a great success. The Quidditch matches were a particular highlight with the children and the parents loved the inspiration it gave their children. Piers Adams gave a dramatic performance on Friday evening and all the recorder students loved his ensemble classes - thank you to Piers for joining us. Practice was done at all hours of the day - from 6:30am to 9pm, on top of 4 hours of lessons each morning and at least one concert. A huge thank you to all the teachers and accompanists, and to all the families for being so friendly and working so hard all week. See you all next year!

Ian Clarke's new CD with Tim Carey on piano, has reached number 8 in the Classic FM chart! Excellent news for flute everywhere. I'm sure it will be available to buy at Summer School this year, if you haven't already bought it.

At the 16th Suzuki Method World Convention, held in Matsumoto, Japan, back in March 2013, there was a huge wall of messages from some of the children who benefited from the money we raised at our Public Concert in 2011. The message were mainly in Japanese, but here are a few in English. They are all heart felt and beautiful. The drawing were lovely too. I am so pleased to see that our £250 went to a very appreciative cause.

Famous recorder player Piers Adams will join us for a day at Suzuki Flute & Recorder Summer School 2013. He will lead workshops for the recorder players, perform a recital and give open masterclasses. Advanced recorder players will be invited to participate in the masterclasses and they will be open for everyone on the Recorder or Flute course to watch. Do search for him on Youtube.
